May is Meditation Month

May is nation meditation month. We love everything mindfulness and meditation so we thought we’d delve into meditation a little bit.

The first recorded artifact of meditation dates all the way back to 5,000 BC  but there are traces of meditation in history all around the world. Eastern medicine uses meditation for various types of diseases and illnesses.

There are so many benefits of meditation. In our society, we an inundated with information and stress. Meditating is the best way to manage this stress and think more clearly.

Here are just a few examples of the benefits of meditation:

  • Improves memory

  • Able to manage anxiety with more ease.

  • Increases grey matter concentration in the brain.

  • Better sleep.

  • Ability to generate gamma waves in the brain.  

  • Improves focus

  • Able to better manage pain.

  • Increases ability to focus

  • Better sex.

  • Increases ability for stress management

And these are just a few of the many benefits!

There are many forms of meditation and ways to find them. If for some reason, you do not have access to an app at any point sitting and breathing is and relaxing the mind is an easy form of meditation you can do on your own. There is so much information about meditation out there. As the mindfulness space keeps to open and grow, more and more studies are being done about meditation. It is not important to perfect meditation. What is important is just to continue doing it throughout your journey.
